Thesis Application Submission
- The student chooses a subject and contacts a professor in that discipline to agree on a thesis topic, timeline, and working methods;
- The supervisor (relatore) identifies an opponent (correlatore) belonging to a different scientific-disciplinary sector (SSD) than their own, and possibly a second supervisor, who may belong to the same SSD as the first supervisor;
- At least 80 days before the scheduled start date of the graduation session, the student, together with the supervisor, fills out the thesis activity start request on the Portale Atlante. If this deadline is not met, the student WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GRADUATE and will be postponed to the first available graduation session (see here);
- The student, together with the supervisor, fills out the thesis activity start request on the Portale Atlante, indicating a start date at least 7 days later than the date the request was entered into the portal, and specifying the internal or external facilities of DiSAAA-a where the thesis activity will take place. Concurrently, the student, with the support of the supervisor, will initiate safety training procedures. It is therefore recommended to submit the thesis start application well in advance with respect to workplace safety requirements;
- Along with the thesis start application generated by the DiSAAA-a portal, the student must also send the certificate of safety training to the President of the Degree Programme (elisa.pellegrini@unipi.it ).
IMPORTANT: Incomplete applications will not be considered.
Following approval by the Degree Programme Board (CdS), the thesis activity will begin on the date indicated by the Student Registry/Teaching Office via an official email communication.
